guides.
Supervises
network specialists. Provides network engineering support and problem
solving as needed to the EACN test and operational sites. Injects
technical designs and assists engineering staff as required with
EACN-related network design and engineering tasks. For example, designed
the IP route distribution plans used to link EACN to SwiftBroadBand and
Northstar network service providers. Directs and performs management
activities associated with EACN configuration management and performance
improvement. The team accomplishments over the past year
include composing and delivering over 120 network device installation
guides. The team produced a dozen network design whitepapers,
describing major network engineering solutions. Monitors and
coordinates activities of project and testing team. Oversaw the IA
technician responsible for testing of over 259 network software patches.
Estimates resource requirements for successful project development and
implementation. Assists client managerial staff in prioritizing and
scheduling EACN and testing activities. Authored and delivered all
monthly status reports.

The Technical
Lead is responsible for preparing test plans, implementing test plans, and
preparing test reports. The Technical Lead is responsible for
compiling and maintaining the inventory documents for the EACN equipment
and software, as well as the documentation for service and licensing of the
EACN equipment. The Technical Lead, in conjunction with the
network technical staff, provides on-going analysis, troubleshooting, and
monitoring of current networking infrastructure components, network
security tools, and standard network practices for the purposes of advising
and providing technical assistance to the customer in support of the EACN.
The Technical Lead brings to the table in-depth knowledge and experience in
network troubleshooting and operational network issues, network testing,
IPv4 and IPv6 network infrastructure, digital and analog voice
communications and network protocols, network data encryption, accepted
practices in network design and implementation, information technology
security products, network cabling and transport protocols, and routers and
switches. Examples of network components currently employed in
the EACN are Cisco routers, Sidewinder firewalls, KG-175’s, Shout900 VoIP,
SkyX TCP protocol manipulators, and Cisco data accelerators. The
Technical lead installs network devices, network servers, encryptions
devices, and interconnecting network cables at the EACN sites as tasked by
the customer. Author and perform briefings to upper-level Air Force
and Department of Defense regarding customer's support role for the EACN.
